Santorum Campaign: Michigan Primary Is A Tie

The Michigan primary — which was hyped as a big possible win for Rick Santorum — ended up (anticlimactically) going to Mitt Romney. The Santorum campaign, however, is spinning it a little differently: it’s a tie.

In a conference call to reporters, Santorum adviser John Brabender said the even split of delegates should deem the Michigan race a tie. From CNN:
“You can only look at Michigan and move it from a win for Mitt Romney to a tie race … If we can do this well in Romney’s home state we clearly think this bodes well for Super Tuesday states.”

Though most recent estimates show Romney and Santorum with 13 delegates each, Romney won the popular vote in the state with 41%, compared to 38%. Four delegates haven’t yet gone to either.
